An Auckland woman has been arrested for allegedly attempting to steal a necklace worth nearly $75,000.<\/p>\n

An Auckland woman has been arrested for allegedly attempting to steal a necklace worth almost $75,000 and smashing a cabinet worth tens of thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n

\n Police were called to a shop on Galway St in Auckland\u2019s CBD just before 5pm where a woman allegedly entered holding a metal pole
\n before taking a necklace from a display Senior Sergeant Dean Henderson said.\n <\/p>\n

\u201cWhen challenged by store employees when attempting to leave, the woman has threatened the employees,\u201d Henderson said.<\/p>\n

Henderson said police spoke to the woman when they arrived, but she then allegedly used the metal pole to smash a $20,000 cabinet. <\/p>\n
