Hey there, Connectors! I hope you\u2019ve had a great week! The weekend is right around the corner, so let\u2019s make sure you get there with your Connections streak intact.<\/p>\n

As long as I don\u2019t royally screw it up, my own streak will hit 363 today. If I can win the next two after that, I\u2019ll hit a year-long streak on Sunday. Whoa.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t actually put that much stock into my streaks. This is all just a bit of fun, after all. But it would be kinda nice to hit that milestone. Especially because my previous best run was 32 wins in a row.<\/p>\n

Before we start, I want to mention the great community we have on Discord<\/a>, where we chat about Connections, the rest of the NYT games and all kinds of other stuff. It\u2019s a lovely, welcoming group of folks. I like to call it our cozy little corner of the internet. You\u2019re more than welcome to join us. Don\u2019t be shy! <\/p>\n

Today\u2019s NYT Connections hints and answers for Friday, February 27 are coming right up. Let\u2019s get rolling!<\/p>\n

NYT Connections \u2013 How To Play<\/p>\n

Connections is a free New York Times daily word game that you can play on the NYT\u2019s website or Games app. If you have an NYT All Access or Games subscription, you can access the Connections archive, which includes every previous game.<\/p>\n

Connections presents you with a grid of 16 words (sometimes phrases, symbols or numbers). The aim is to arrange them into four groups of four. You don\u2019t know how they hit together or what the category for each group is: that\u2019s what you have to figure out.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s only one correct solution and there are often red herrings. You can guess incorrectly three times. A fourth wrong guess, and it\u2019s game over.<\/p>\n

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to deduce, followed by blue, green and purple. Often, the yellow and green groups have synonyms, the blues have cultural references and the purples have some kind of wordplay involved. But this is not a hard and fast rule. Be ready for curveballs \u2013 part of the fun of Connections is in how the NYT shakes things up to keep you on your toes.<\/p>\n

As with Wordle and similar games, it\u2019s easy to share results with your friends using an emoji-based grid. The game tracks your progress too.<\/p>\n

Many players take pride in having long win streaks or getting a reverse rainbow \u2013 correctly guessing the purple, blue, green and yellow groups in that order with no mistakes. That adds an extra little challenge.<\/p>\n

The yellows crystallized in my mind as soon as I got down to TRAITOR when I was writing out the list of words. No problem with those.<\/p>\n

FRENCH, AIR and BUTTERFLY can all precede “kiss,” but that seemed like a red herring since we\u2019ve had a similar category lately. Soon after, I realized that BUTTERFLY fit with the rest of the blues (though it did take me a moment to clock that SNOWBALL was the fourth word).<\/p>\n

At that point, FRENCH, PRINTING and BENCH landed next to each other. That’s when the purple connection clicked for me. That left the greens, and the category made sense to me before I submitted that group.<\/p>\n
