Page Six\u2019s \u201cVirtual Reali-Tea,\u201d <\/a>Nikpey and her co-star Golnesa \u201cGG\u201d Gharachedaghi opened up about the emotional unraveling viewers have seen play out on Bravo\u2019s \u201cThe Valley: Persian Style.\u201d<\/p>\nAt the center of the fallout is an eyebrow-raising moment involving Nikpey\u2019s skincare brand, skin by TANIN. Tensions first bubbled up when Askari rubbed one of Nikpey\u2019s signature skin oils on Nikpey\u2019s dog \u2014 a move Nikpey found deeply disrespectful. While it was initially brushed off as a joke, Nikpey says Askari\u2019s actions cut much deeper.<\/p>\n

The situation escalated at a cast dinner when Reza Farahan revealed just how upset Nikpey was over the incident, igniting a contentious back-and-forth that exposed cracks in the once-tight friendship. Since then, what started as hurt feelings has spiraled into what appears to be an irreparable rift.<\/p>\n
Nikpey tells us she attempted to address the issue head-on in a private phone call with Askari \u2014 but it didn\u2019t go as she\u2019d hoped.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did call her the next day and I did bring all this up and she did not [apologize]. It was very much dismissed. I said, \u2018Did you use the oil?\u2019 She said, \u2018No, it\u2019s probably going to give me a pimple.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
For Nikpey, the controversy was never simply about a dog or a beauty product.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was way deeper than what [it appeared to be]. Listen, I love dogs. I love dogs. I rescue dogs. Like, there is nothing more important to me than dogs,\u201d she explains.<\/p>\n
Gharachedaghi \u2014 who admits she was never particularly fond of Askari \u2014 didn\u2019t hesitate to back her friend up. In fact, she underscored just how central dogs are in Nikpey\u2019s life and marriage to husband Greg Haroutunian.<\/p>\n
\u201cHer husband can\u2019t even sleep in bed with her because her dogs love to sleep there,\u201d Gharachedaghi says with a laugh.<\/p>\n

Still, Nikpey insists her hurt stemmed less from the act itself and more from what she perceived as a lack of support.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was not about the dogs and it\u2019s not about the oil. It was the questioning of the product and all those things. Listen, if I\u2019m asking you to just be a cheerleader, take a victory lap, say, \u2018I\u2019m so excited,\u2019 and we move on.\u201d<\/p>\n
As for whether reality TV accelerated the demise of their bond, Nikpey believes the issues were already brewing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that we had a really solid friendship maybe the first two years. But I think things really started to change a while before this happened. And then this happened maybe at the right time for the show but I think it was all authentic. I do think cameras amplify your problems \u2014 or maybe, more so, you see it more clearly,\u201d she shares.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like things that I would usually look the other way, it\u2019s, like, now I\u2019m watching and am just like, \u2018Wow. Why did I ever do that?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
