The announcement of Rubio&#8217;s visit could indicate a longer timeline for any potential strike.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-paragraph articleLinkText  lg mb-4\">A confidential report from the UN nuclear watchdog, meanwhile, confirmed that Iran has not offered inspectors access to sensitive nuclear sites since they were heavily bombed during the 12-day war launched by Israel last June. Iran says it will respond to any US attack by targeting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1news.co.nz\/2026\/02\/20\/trump-warns-of-bad-things-if-iran-doesnt-make-a-deal\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">American forces in the region<\/a>, potentially including those stationed in US bases in allied Arab countries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-paragraph articleLinkText  lg mb-4\">Airlines such as Netherlands-based KLM have already announced plans to suspend flights out of Tel Aviv&#8217;s Ben Gurion International Airport, and other embassies have also made plans for authorised departures from Israel and neighbouring countries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-paragraph articleLinkText  lg mb-4\">Britain\u2019s Foreign Office said that \u201cdue to the security situation, UK staff have been temporarily withdrawn from Iran\u201d. In an update to its travel advice, the Foreign Office added that the country\u2019s embassy in Tel Aviv is operating as normal but that the situation \u201ccould escalate quickly and poses significant risks\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-paragraph articleLinkText  lg mb-4\">British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Thursday the UK was focused on \u201csupporting the political process\u201d between Washington and Tehran.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-paragraph articleLinkText  lg mb-4\">Australia on Wednesday \u201cdirected the departure of all dependents of Australian officials posted to Israel in response to the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East\u201d.
