Media at the time reported Pitt allegedly struck Maddox as the child tried to defend Jolie during a drunken violent incident aboard a private plane.<\/p>\n

Jolie\u2019s lawyers also alleged Pitt tried to choke one of the children during the altercation.<\/p>\n

The incident reportedly resulted in a strained relationship between the father and son, with Maddox allegedly saying he never wanted to see him again<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Page Six reported the FBI investigated the alleged confrontation and no charges were brought against Pitt as a result.<\/p>\n

Maddox Jolie is not the first of his siblings to drop the Pitt name, according to E! News.<\/p>\n

In 2023, video surfaced of Zahara Pitt asking members of her Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College to address her as Zahara Jolie.<\/p>\n

The next year, Vivienne Pitt, who is one of the couple\u2019s biological children, was credited as Vivienne Jolie in a programme for the Broadway musical The Outsiders. <\/p>\n

Shiloh Pitt legally changed her name to Shiloh Jolie in August 2024.<\/p>\n

Pitt was reportedly \u201caware and upset\u201d when Shiloh Jolie changed her name, according to People.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter,\u201d a close family source told the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reminders that he\u2019s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It\u2019s very sad.\u201d<\/p>\n
