Jacob Alon<\/a>\u00a0held up a Palestinian scarf during Sharon Osbourne\u2019s speech at the 2026\u00a0BRIT Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At the awards show in Manchester\u2019s Co-op Live Arena on Saturday night (February 28), Osbourne was on hand alongside her daughter Kelly to accept the Lifetime Achievement prize on behalf of her late husband Ozzy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During her emotional speech, Alon \u2013\u00a0who won the\u00a0BRITs Critics Choice award at the show<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 held a black-and-white\u00a0patterned\u00a0keffiyeh over\u00a0their\u00a0head, a Middle Eastern headdress that has been adopted as a symbol of Palestinian solidarity.<\/p>\n

Alon has consistently been outspoken\u00a0on the subject of Palestine, adapting the lyrics to the song \u2018Fairy\u00a0In\u00a0A\u00a0Bottle\u2019 to include the words \u201cfree Palestine\u201d\u00a0during\u00a0their\u00a0performance at the 2025 Mercury Prize ceremony<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Osbourne, meanwhile, has been a staunch defender of Israel over the years, accusing Kanye West<\/a>, Jeremy Corbyn and others of anti-Semitism,\u00a0signing a letter rejecting Israel\u2019s boycott from Eurovision in 2024<\/a>, and making headlines last year for\u00a0her\u00a0furious reaction to Kneecap\u2019s pro-Palestine comments at Coachella<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Irish rap trio led chants of \u201cFuck Israel, Free Palestine\u201d at the US festival<\/a>\u00a0and accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, prompting Osbourne, who has Ashkenazi Jewish heritage,\u00a0to call for the band\u2019s US work visas\u00a0to be revoked and claiming they had \u201ccompromised\u201d the festival\u2019s \u201cmoral and spiritual integrity\u201d.<\/p>\n

She later repeated her criticisms of Kneecap<\/a>, calling them \u201cpathetic\u201d,\u00a0\u201cuneducated\u201d and \u201cfull of hate\u201d.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere at the BRITS,\u00a0Geese\u2019s Max Bassin used his own speech accepting the Best International Group prize to call for a free Palestine<\/a>, as well as declaring \u201cfuck\u00a0ICE\u201d.<\/p>\n

Kelly Osbourne stood by her mother\u2019s side at the\u00a0ceremony, but\u00a0took to\u00a0Instagram\u00a0just hours later to hit out at people criticising her appearance<\/a>, saying she would not allow herself to be \u201cdehumanized\u201d.<\/p>\n

Robbie Williams\u00a0led\u00a0an all-star tribute to Ozzy<\/a>\u00a0at the BRITs, singing \u2018No More Tears\u2019 backed by a band made up of regular Ozzy collaborators Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, Tommy\u00a0Clufetos\u00a0and Zakk Wylde.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Jacob Alon\u00a0held up a Palestinian scarf during Sharon Osbourne\u2019s speech at the 2026\u00a0BRIT Awards.
