The Little Sisters of the Poor in Dunedin have been running the Sacred Heart Home and Hospital in the suburb of Brockville for over one hundred years, under the mission of providing care for the elderly who can’t afford it.<\/p>\n
And the number of those who can’t afford it is simply going up.<\/p>\n
The nuns have financed a new, 12-unit housing complex to the tune of eight million dollars.<\/p>\n
However they’re now asking for help from the public to raise the extra one hundred and fifty thousand dollars to put the finishing touches on the development.<\/p>\n
