This event was a collaboration between the Tryon Arts &amp; Crafts School and the Tryon Downtown Development Association to bring more public art to the town.<\/p>\n<p>Denny Crowe, a member of the TDDA, expressed her enthusiasm about the sculpture\u2019s impact on the community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not just a sculpture; it\u2019s a symbol of our creativity and commitment to the arts,\u201d she said. \u201cThe Steel Deer will become a landmark in our town, celebrating the extraordinary talents of our local artists and the generous spirit of the Breakfast Crew.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Breakfast Crew, comprised of talented individuals Dave Briere, Vern Davis, Gerry Drew, Bernard Edwards, Nick Fischer, Fred Herres, and Will Kallberg, worked collectively to bring this project to fruition. Will Barclift, executive director of TACS, shared his gratitude during the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Breakfast Crew has been a steadfast force in our community,\u201d Barclift said. \u201cTheir passion for art and commitment to Tryon have played a vital role in enhancing our local culture. This project turned into a labor of love, a way for us to give back to a community we care about deeply.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Barclift further elaborated on the importance of community involvement. \u201cIt\u2019s wonderful to see so many people come together to support our local artists. Events like this remind us of the strength of our community,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen we collaborate, we can accomplish remarkable things. This sculpture isn\u2019t just about art; it\u2019s about inspiring future generations to appreciate and participate in creative expression.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The sculpture is not only a visual delight but is also available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting TACS. The unique arrangement ensures that \u201cThe Steel Deer\u201d remains on public display in its current location for at least five years, serving as a constant reminder of the community\u2019s support for the arts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope this sculpture will spark conversations and inspire creativity in everyone who sees it.
