<\/p>\nActor Sayani Gupta has shared that she lent her voice to Priyanka Chopra for the Hindi version of the swashbuckler action thriller The Bluff. In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sayani spoke candidly about her admiration for Priyanka, her passion for voice work, and the emotional significance of the project.<\/p>\n

Opening up about the opportunity, Sayani said, \u201cWhen they approached me to be PC’s voice, I was quite excited. I absolutely adore her – she’s someone I deeply admire\u201d. Reflecting on her long association with voice work, she shared, \u201cI’ve always loved voice work. I’ve trained in it and done it since I was very little. In fact, my very first pay cheque was for an All India Radio ad when I was five years old I got Rs. 500 for it\u201d. She further added, \u201cElocution, recitation, voice modulation and diction are things my father trained me in since I was a kid, so I enjoy it a lot. There’s immense scope in performance just through voice and breath\u201d<\/p>\n
Talking about the challenges of dubbing, Sayani explained, \u201cDubbing for someone else is very tricky. I only did it because it’s PC – she’s terrific,\u201d She also noted, \u201cWe both have husky, grainy voices with a deeper timbre, so it was a voice match.\u201d Praising Priyanka\u2019s performance in the film, she said, \u201cShe’s amazing in the film, which gave me a great range to work with. PC is a force of nature, and so is Ercell, her character in The Bluff -a total boss. But I had to do justice to her performance and every nuance that she so intricately etched.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also revealed, \u201cShe also sings beautifully in a scene, which I got to sing for as well\u201d. Calling the experience enjoyable, she added, \u201cIt was super fun because PC’s performance is delicious.\u201d Highlighting the uniqueness of the project, Sayani stated, \u201cShe generally does all her dubs herself. And this is the first time someone else has done her Hindi dub, I was told,\u201d<\/p>\n
On a personal note, she shared, \u201cHonestly, it’s the coolest thing to be recognised by one’s voice. My father would be happy from wherever he is\u201d. She further recalled, \u201cHe used to always say because I had a deep voice even as a kid – ‘When you grow up, people will appreciate your voice. So any voice work that I do, it’s like a homage to him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Directed by Frank E. Flowers and written by Flowers along with Joe Ballarini, The Bluff also stars Karl Urban, Ismael Cruz C\u00f3rdova, Safia Oakley-Green, and Temuera Morrison. Produced by AGBO, Cinestar Pictures, and Purple Pebble Pictures, the film was released on Amazon Prime Video on February 25, 2026.<\/p>\n
