Twisted Sister have confirmed that Sebastian Bach will front the band in the place of retired frontman Dee Snider for a run of select shows this autumn.<\/p>\n
\nSnider stepped down from Twisted Sister due to health issues, prompting the cancellation of all planned 2026 reunion shows. Now, Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda have introduced Bach as their frontman for the six shows yet to be announced, and he has Snider’s seal of approval.<\/p>\n
\nA social media statement read: \u201cTwisted Sister members Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda are thrilled to announce that iconic vocalist and frontman Sebastian Bach will be fronting the band for a handful of select dates this fall. These appearances do not affect or conflict with Sebastian\u2019s current or future solo touring schedule, which remains fully intact.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBach reacted with a long, emotional statement, opening with: \u201cI am the lead singer of Twisted Sister. I keep saying that over and over to myself and anybody else who will listen.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe said he is \u201cabsolutely honoured and overjoyed to pay tribute to the legacy of some of my favourite music and musicians of my whole life!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe added that he called Snider before the news broke: \u201cWe were both kind of emotional on the phone. I know I was a little bit teary-eyed because I have nothing but respect for Dee, and I have always been a fan and a friend of Dee, Suzette and his wonderful family.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBach confirmed: \u201cWe have agreed to do six shows this year together, and I am really looking forward to this. None of the shows of my solo band are being cancelled or moved. I am going to be one busy mother trucker, that is for sure, but I am used to it!\u201d He thanked the band directly: \u201cI would like to personally thank Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda and the whole team of Twisted Fucking Sister. It\u2019s a long way from me painting the TS logo on the back of my jean jacket in high school in liquid paper to fronting the band. I am completely excited as a fan to sing these songs.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe signed off: \u201cThank you, Twisted Sister, for this awesome opportunity, and I look forward to rocking with all you sick motherfckers later on this year!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAfter speculation about his condition, Snider addressed the rumours directly on his House of Hair radio show, saying: \u201cI\u2019m not dying! No, not never; I mean, we\u2019re all dying, but not immediately.\u201d He added: \u201cThe rumours have run wild that I\u2019m on my death bed, I am not. I just can\u2019t do those things that I did in my 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and even 60s. Alright? Otherwise I\u2019m alive and well. I\u2019m enjoying life.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSnider explained that he can no longer perform with the intensity fans expect: \u201cYou won\u2019t see me on the stage kicking a** like I used to, because that will mess me up. So had to pull out of Twisted Sister, had to cancel the tour, my apologies for that. (sic)”<\/p>\n
\nHe thanked fans for their concern: \u201cThank you for all the love and care and worry and all that stuff. It was crazy the amount of people, the outpouring was beautiful, thank you very much for cheering me on. I\u2019m OK, I just can\u2019t do that anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe added: \u201cThe truth of the matter is, I don\u2019t want you to see me up there being less than you expect me to be. You got memories of the great shows that I did, that\u2019s what I want to leave you with. Not me standing up there like Willie Nelson \u2013 nothing wrong with Willie, 95 years old, in a wheelchair \u2013 you know what I\u2019m saying.\u201d Snider said he still expects to be around for years: \u201cI went out rockin\u2019, I\u2019m still rockin\u2019 here, I ain\u2019t stopping. I got a lot of life to live. My dad is 95 and still kicking, so I\u2019m expecting to be around for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nA statement on the band\u2019s website explained: \u201cA lifetime of legendarily aggressive performing has taken its toll on Dee Snider\u2019s body and soul\u2026 Snider (70) suffers from degenerative arthritis and has had several surgeries over the years just to keep going, able to only perform a few songs at a time in pain.\u201d It added that his heart has also been affected by decades of high-intensity performing.<\/p>\n
\nSnider said: \u201cI don\u2019t know of any other way to rock. The idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me.
