Police have arrested and charged a 24-year-old man after two people were seriously injured in an assault in M\u0101tangi on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

\n Police said at the time<\/a> two people attempted to speak with three occupants of a dark-coloured Ford Falcon doing \u201cnoisy burnouts\u201d in the semi-rural
\n area around 8pm.\n <\/p>\n

Police said the trio then got out and assaulted the victims. They suffered serious injuries, requiring hospital treatment.<\/p>\n

Inspector Andrea McBeth, Hamilton City area commander, said the 24-year-old man had been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.<\/p>\n
