Jennifer Keenan was injured when a makeshift bridge she was crossing in the Philippines collapsed.

As they were on a small island, Keenan couldn’t be taken to a hospital. Instead, she was taken to a small medical centre for treatment, news.com.au reported.

“I just lay down on the kayak and I put my hat over my head … I just didn’t want to go into shock,” she said.

She was put on a boat for two-and-a-half hours to be taken to the nearest hospital.

Keenan has since been airlifted to Manila, where she is still recovering.

The GoFundMe page has been created to support her as she recovers.

[3
74,15408,1135,16717,3246,1565,42503,42501,2837,42,189,78033,1340,11517,5836,20832,43,4291,31532,40,38,41,39,8528,8238,1316,6123,1354
post-315774","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-headlines","tag-after","tag-almost","tag-australian","tag-becoming","tag-both","tag-bridge","tag-collapsed","tag-collapses","tag-during","tag-headlines","tag-holiday","tag-holidaying","tag-legs","tag-loses","tag-lost","tag-makeshift","tag-news","tag-philippines","tag-rubble","tag-top-news","tag-top-stories","tag-topnews","tag-topstories","tag-trapped","tag-under","tag-when","tag-while","tag-woman
["GET
