AVONDALE, Ariz. – The NASCAR O’Reilly Series is visiting <\/p>\n

<\/a> its first traditional oval of the 2026 campaign this weekend at Phoenix Raceway <\/p>\n

<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Festivities started with practice and qualifying on Friday evening. <\/p>\n

That meant Corey Day was back behind the wheel of the No. 17 HendrickCars.com <\/a> Chevrolet and yet again in the young season, he was fast <\/p>\n

<\/a>. Among the last to lay down a lap, Day turned in a time of 27.758 seconds, good enough for the eighth spot on the starting grid. <\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Day enters the weekend in the eighth spot in the NOAPS points standings, coming off back-to-back, top-five finishes. He will make his second start in the series at the 1-mile oval <\/p>\n

<\/a> after finishing 14th in the season finale last season. <\/p>\n

The NOAPS race is set for a 7:30 p.m. start on Saturday and will air on CW <\/p>\n

<\/a>. <\/p>\n
