Garvy Beh shares how he keeps a steady hand between crossing continents, healthcare work and playing competitive polo<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the advantage of being a Type A person is you basically plan everything ahead. It gives you more peace of mind when travelling when everything we do is on time,\u201d says Garvy Beh. He speaks with the calm certainty of someone who is accustomed to operating at full throttle. The 32-year-old jet-sets almost every month \u2014 roughly half for business, half for polo. Still, there is no trace of frenzy about him. \u201cI will plan a detailed itinerary from day to night \u2014 where we are staying, where we are going to eat.\u201d This diligence is what makes Beh\u2019s numerous journeys feel seamless, rather than stressful. It is also why the tools he travels with must match that same precision \u2014 structured, reliable and designed to perform without fuss. By profession, he is a heavyweight in healthcare. As director of BP Healthcare, he oversees not only the brick-and-mortar facilities but also a lesser-known, yet critical arm of the business \u2013 medical waste incineration. The group operates a plant in Perak that currently processes five tonnes of waste daily for public and private hospitals, with plans to quadruple capacity in the coming years. Upgrades for specialist centres in Batu Kawan, Teluk Intan, Alor Setar and Butterworth are also on the horizon.<\/p>\n

Beyond this, Beh is also founder and CEO of Doctor2U, an integrated healthcare app providing on-demand medical services across Malaysia and Singapore. Efficiency and access are central to its mission \u2013 principles that echo his personal philosophy. In many ways, travel sharpens this conviction.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time I travel for work, I observe other hospitals or healthcare operators. Some are better than us, some are not,\u201d he says candidly. \u201cThe ones that are better, those are the ones we learn from. I always look at how we can improve what we currently have.\u201d<\/p>\n

Technology plays a defining role in this evolution. With diagnostics being the main focus of BP Healthcare, the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in pre-analysing X-rays has helped radiologists review cases by flagging potential issues. Thus, speed and precision improve.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou cannot run a business alone. You need a strong team of talented, reliable and hardworking people. Polo is the same.\u201d<\/p>\n

Competitions and tournaments have taken him from Argentina to England, France, Mongolia and, most recently, the Snow Polo World Cup in Kitzb\u00fchel and St Moritz, where his team placed runner-up.<\/p>\n

Snow polo, he notes, is a different beast \u2014 conditions are colder and more punishing. \u201cOut of seven days, I fell five times,\u201d he laughs.<\/p>\n

Even so, he returns to it year after year. \u201cI like to win,\u201d Beh admits. \u201cIf I lose, I have a hard time sleeping.
