Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha marks the seventh installment in the YRF Spy Universe and is the first film in the franchise to be led by female protagonists. Alia Bhatt and Sharvari star as elite intelligence agents navigating high-stakes action, espionage, and intense thrills, signaling a significant shift for women-led narratives in Bollywood’s action genre.

Originally slated for December 2025, the film’s release was first pushed to April 2026 due to post-production demands, particularly the integration of advanced visual effects. The July date aligns with YRF’s successful pattern of summer action blockbusters, including films like War and Pathaan, maximizing audience anticipation.

The film’s ensemble cast also features seasoned actors Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, whose roles are expected to add depth and veteran gravitas to the adrenaline-fueled narrative. Fans have already expressed excitement for the genre-blending espionage, praising the potential of a female-led action spectacle within the YRF Spy Universe.

Alpha promises a fast-paced plot focusing on the strategic, high-pressure world of intelligence work, where Bhatt and Sharvari’s characters must navigate life-threatening missions and complex adversaries. The anticipation for the film underscores YRF’s commitment to expanding the franchise while diversifying its storytelling with women-centric narratives.
