\n\tTaylor Swift<\/a> is giving fans a creative way to celebrate the release of The Life of a Showgirl, with the pop star planning to unveil a screen project titled Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl in theaters alongside the album.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe news was shared by Variety<\/a> on Friday (Sept. 19), the morning after The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> first reported that Swift had a secret theatrical event in the works. The Official Release Party of a Showgirl will be 89 minutes and features the premiere of the music video for the album\u2019s opening track, \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso included in the project are behind-the-scenes footage of Swift\u2019s \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia\u201d video shoot, lyric videos for the other tracks on Showgirl, and the 14-time Grammy winner\u2019s own \u201cnever-before-seen personal reflections\u201d on the songs.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI hereby invite you to a dazzling soir\u00e9e,\u201d Swift wrote when sharing the news on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cDancing is optional but very much encouraged.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film will run all release weekend, from Oct. 3-5. Fans can now purchase tickets via the event\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tSwift is no stranger to film, starring in Netflix\u2019s Miss Americana documentary in 2020 and releasing her Eras Tour concert film in 2023. The latter pulled in $179.2 million in the domestic box office, becoming the highest grossing<\/a> concert film of all time.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe musician has also directed a number of her own screen projects, including 2021\u2019s All Too Well: The Short Film. She has also reportedly been in the process of developing an original film <\/a>for Searchlight Pictures, which she would direct with a script she wrote.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe report of the Showgirl theatrical event comes just two weeks ahead of Swift\u2019s highly anticipated 12th studio album, which she announced in August through an appearance on now-fianc\u00e9 Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce\u2019s New Heights podcast. Made entirely with past collaborators Max Martin and Shellback, the full-length is expected to deliver a number of pop bangers.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was so mentally stimulated and excited to be creating,\u201d Swift reflected of making Showgirl while she was on her global Eras trek. \u201c[The album is] a lot more upbeat, and it\u2019s a lot more fun pop excitement. My main goals were melodies that were so infectious, you\u2019re almost angry at it.\u201d<\/p>\n
