\u201cThe bakery is operating at full capacity, and supply is expected to return to normal from tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson did not elaborate on the nature of their bakery\u2019s production issue, but apologised to customers for the disruption and thanked them for their patience.<\/p>\n
George Weston Foods, the producer of bread brands like Tip Top, B\u00fcrgen and Ploughman\u2019s, told the Herald the matter was unrelated to their brand.<\/p>\n
A Foodstuffs spokesperson said some stores \u201chave experienced lower-than-usual volumes of a few bread lines due to a temporary supply issue affecting parts of the range\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cFresh deliveries are arriving in stores today and we expect supply to return to normal levels across affected stores tomorrow,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n
Bread shelves across Auckland supermarkets have largely emptied since Sunday after loaf stocks dwindled, with all three major brands \u2013 Woolworths, New World and Pak\u2019nSave \u2013 installing notices warning shoppers of the expected shortage.<\/p>\n
Vogel\u2019s, one of the most popular bread brands in New Zealand, was among those affected, alongside Molenberg, Freya\u2019s and Nature\u2019s Fresh.<\/p>\n
\u201cDue to a production issue, Vogel\u2019s bread will be out of stock until further notice from the supplier,\u201d one attached to empty bread shelves at New World Point Chevalier read.<\/p>\n
At Pak\u2019nSave Wairau, a similar notice hanging above barren shelves advised customers of their store\u2019s limited bread supply, which was attributed \u201cto a breakdown overnight\u201d. <\/p>\n
When approached yesterday, a Woolworths NZ spokesperson said its Auckland stores had been \u201cimpacted by a supply issue of Vogel\u2019s bread on Sunday, March 8\u2033.<\/p>\n
At the time, Woolworths NZ said it expected the issues to be resolved by today and thanked customers for their \u201csupport and patience\u201d.<\/p>\n
