Tasti Products Limited has recalled a range of its muesli bars, peanuts and snackball products, due to the possible presence of small wire-like metal pieces.<\/p>\n
New Zealand Food Safety [NZFS] supported the move, with deputy director-general Vincent Arbuckle saying the products could cause injury.<\/p>\n
“Affected products have been removed from shelves,” he said. “If you have any at home, don’t eat them.<\/p>\n
“You can return them to the place of purchase for a refund. If that’s not possible, throw them out.”<\/p>\n
The items impacted include their Smooshed wholefood balls, snack logs, chopped peanuts, Frooze Balls and nut bars.<\/p>\n
Not all batches and flavours are affected, so consumers are asked to check the information on the recall page carefully.<\/p>\n
The products are sold at supermarkets and retailers throughout New Zealand.<\/p>\n
Up-to-date information on affected products, batches and flavours, including photographs, is available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Arbuckle said New Zealand Food Safety had not received any notifications of associated injury.<\/p>\n “As is our usual practice, NZFS will work with Tasti Products Ltd to understand how this happened and prevent its recurrence.”<\/p>\n Some affected product has been exported to Australia, Fiji, India and Singapore. New Zealand Food Safety has informed food safety authorities in those countries.<\/p>\n Arbuckle is working with the company to discover how it happened.<\/p>\n
