Katie Nicholl was speaking at <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/royal\/2160914\/prince-harry-statement-daily-mail-court\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a privacy case<\/a> brought by the <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/prince-harry\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Duke of Sussex<\/a> and six other public figures against the Mail on Sunday and The Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<p>Associated Newspapers, publisher of both titles, denies allegations its journalists commissioned private detectives to hack voicemails, intercept landline calls and &#8216;blag&#8217; their private information.<\/p>\n<p>The Duke of Sussex&#8217;s legal team has claimed that <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/prince-harry\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Harry\u2019s friends<\/a> were unlikely to provide information to journalists, a claim disputed by Ms Nicholl.<\/p>\n<p>The journalist told the court: \u201cI didn&#8217;t need to sit at home using unlawful information gathering because I had very good sources close to Prince Harry who were talking to me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She added: &#8220;They were not all tight-lipped. They certainly were not.
