Princess Diana died aged 36 after a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997.<\/p>\n

Prince William previously reflected on the kind of grandmother he believes his mother would have been in the 2017 documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy.<\/p>\n

He joked that Diana would have adored her grandchildren but might also have been \u201ca nightmare grandmother\u201d, according to Hello! magazine.<\/p>\n

In 2021, he shared heartfelt Mother\u2019s Day cards written by his children to their \u201cGranny Diana\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cDear Granny Diana, I am thinking of you on mother\u2019s day. I love you very much. Papa is missing you. Lots of love Charlotte xxxxxxxxx\u201d, Princess Charlotte wrote on a pink card with a large hand-drawn heart surrounded by butterfly stickers.<\/p>\n

Her older brother Prince George wrote: \u201cDear granny Diana, Happy happy Mother\u2019s Day. I love you very much and think of you always, sending lots of love from George xxxxx\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Royal Family X account also marked Mother\u2019s Day with several throwback photos.<\/p>\n
