James Wade is the youngest novelist to win two Spur awards, granted by the Western Writers of America. The Boerne Book Festival has been honored to feature the author each year since his first book, \u201cAll Things Left Wild,\u201d was released.<\/p>\n

This year, he\u2019ll be on hand with his latest novel, \u201cNarrow the Road,\u201d at the \u201cObsessed with Texas\u201d panel discussion sponsored by the Writers\u2019 League of Texas.<\/p>\n

This session will take place at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 4 in the library\u2019s community room.<\/p>\n

Another award-winning author scheduled on this panel is Andrew Porter, who teaches at Trinity University.<\/p>\n

Porter\u2019s latest novel, \u201cThe Imagined Life,\u201d has received many accolades since its release in May of this year. Esquire Magazine selected it one of the best books of 2025.<\/p>\n

The above novelists will be joined by Texas Monthly writer Hannah Smothers and Writers\u2019 League of Texas Executive Director Evan Parks to round out the \u201cObsessed With Texas\u201d panel discussion.<\/p>\n

Scott Semegran will be featured later in the day with his new \u201cnovel in-stories\u201d titled \u201cStarman After Midnight.\u201d Meet the author at the \u201cWriting to Heal\u201d panel discussion at 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Semegran\u2019s previous novel, \u201cThe Codger and the Sparrow,\u201d won The Discovery Prize for Fiction for 2024. The other writers on this panel are Cyra Dumitru, James R. Dennis, Lucy Griffith and Bianca Alyssa P\u00e9rez.<\/p>\n
