Actress Rebecca Gayheart<\/a> has put on a brave face, appearing in public for the first time since the death of her late former husband Eric Dane.<\/a><\/p>\n

Gayheart, 54, attended the Los Angeles premiere of Zendaya-led film The Drama<\/a> alongside daughters Billie, 16, and Georgia, 14, whom she shared with the late actor.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Looking radiant in \ufeffa bold striped ensemble, the actress posed for photos with her children in a touching show of strength just one month after Dane’s passing.<\/p>\n

Gayheart originally separated from Dane in 2018, but proceeded to withdraw their long-pending divorce in March last year.<\/p>\n

Despite this initial filing, it was reported the pair remained close throughout the next seven years, frequently taking family holidays together and effectively co-parenting their two children.<\/p>\n

Previously speaking on an episode of Netflix’s posthumous interview series Famous Last Words<\/a>, which aired a day after his death, Dane revealed he and Gayheart “still loved each other deeply.”<\/p>\n

“There’s a lot of love there. I will never, by the time anybody sees this, would have ever fallen in love with another woman as deeply as I fell in love with Rebecca.”\ufeff<\/p>\n

Following Dane’s ALS diagnosis<\/a>, Gayheart remaining legally married to the actor, and acted as his primary caregiver up until his passing.<\/p>\n

Dane’s family released a heartbreaking statement to PEOPLE at the time, saying “with heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS.”<\/p>\n

“Throughout his journey, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight.<\/p>\n

“He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered always.”<\/p>\n

In \ufeffhis first interview three months after revealing his diagnosis, he previously revealed to Good Morning America<\/a> that his right side had “completely stopped” functioning.<\/p>\n

“My left side is functioning, my right side has completely stopped working,” he said at the time.<\/p>\n

“I feel like maybe a couple, few more months, and I won’t have my left hand [functioning] either.”<\/p>\n

In the months before his death, he advocated for better research into ALS on Capitol Hill, \ufeffhoping for an extension of funding dedicated to investigating new ways to treat the illness.<\/p>\n
