As the due date draws closer, anticipation has taken over their everyday lives. \u201cI have never watched the calendar as closely as I am doing now,\u201d Vivek admits.For Divyanka, the journey has been one of patience and quiet hope. She says, \u201cI was checking those strips almost every month, waiting for the lines to appear, and when it finally happened, it took time to sink in. When I told Vivek, we were quietly happy. I didn\u2019t celebrate right away. There was a shift in my mind and body. I became very cautious about what I ate, how I worked out, even how I moved. I was suddenly extremely self-aware and protective.\u201d <\/p>\n

Divyanka Tripathi & Vivek Dahiya: Rediscovering Love, One Moment at a Time Vivek describes the moment as life-altering. He says, \u201cIt felt like someone rewrote our script overnight. The course of my life changed completely. It didn\u2019t begin with joy. It started with disbelief, then a bit of panic, and eventually settled into a quiet happiness over the past few months. It took me time to absorb it, but now I feel ready to embrace this responsibility.\u201dChoosing to embrace parenthood in their 40s, the couple approaches this phase with clarity. Divyanka says, \u201cOne shouldn\u2019t let age become a fear. It should become a source of strength. You understand your body better, and that becomes very important. Along with your doctors, you have to listen to your body.\u201dVivek adds, \u201cThere is a notion about how pregnancy is seen at different stages of life, and in your 40s, it is seen as high-risk. But we look at it differently. We are at a stage where we have seen life and have more emotional clarity. So we are driven more by intention and less by pressure. It is something that has become very evident in our lives, and we feel this is what we need.\u201dIf Divyanka\u2019s journey has been about slowing down, Vivek\u2019s has come with a rather unexpected side effect, his cravings. He shares, \u201cMy cravings have shot up. I\u2019ve been bingeing on ice creams and chaats, and suddenly I want burgers all the time. Divyanka says I look more pregnant than her in terms of cravings, and I can\u2019t argue with that.\u201dThe experience of pregnancy has brought them closer and deepened their understanding of each other. Divyanka says, \u201cWhen you conceive, you begin to discover each other in a very different light. There\u2019s a shift from what is spoken to what is simply understood. There were times when my behaviour confused him, but now he senses what I need even before I articulate it.\u201dVivek adds, \u201cI realised that we have come together in a real way, not like in films. I have gained more respect for Divyanka. When you see your partner go through so many changes, you realise that a relationship is not just about love or the good days. It is also about showing up when things feel uncertain or exhausting. That\u2019s where maturity comes in.
