Kyle Sandilands has filed legal action in the federal court against ARN Media, claiming the termination of his $100m contract is invalid because he is not guilty of serious misconduct or breach of contract.<\/p>\n

Last week Sandilands was sacked<\/a> and his top-rating Kyle and Jackie O Show was cancelled.<\/p>\n

ARN Media issued a notice of termination of contract to Sandilands and his company Quasar Media over a dispute that began with an on-air argument<\/a> last month between Sandilands and his co-host, Jackie \u201cO\u201d Henderson.<\/p>\n

ARN Media, which intends to defend the claim, made the legal action against the broadcaster Kiis FM public in a filing with the ASX<\/a> on Monday morning after it was served on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn summary, the applicants claim the termination of Mr Sandilands\u2019 contract was invalid on the basis they allege that there was no act of serious misconduct or breach of contract, and that the termination was unconscionable under the Australian Consumer Law,\u201d ARN said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe applicants seek an order for specific performance of two contracts, payment of whatever amounts are due and payable under the contracts at the time of judgment, and damages.<\/p>\n

\u201cARN disputes the claims. It intends to defend the proceedings.
