Schuster, who has been giving out vouchers for a week, said he doesn\u2019t hang around to see people\u2019s reactions.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not a people person, so I just get in and get out, I say, \u2018here you go, see you later\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is no hanging around.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey are probably just flabbergasted because I am walking away, getting back in my car.\u201d<\/p>\n
So far, Schuster has been to BP Stortford Lodge, Caltex Omahu, Allied Fuel Flaxmere, Caltex Karamu, and Z on Heretaunga St.<\/p>\n
\u201cI went to people that I thought might need it, at a petrol pump and made them randomly pick [a voucher].<\/p>\n
\u201cI look at the car, and for example, some cars have more dents than others, some are more old.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf your car was too flash, I wasn\u2019t even looking that way.\u201d<\/p>\n
When Schuster runs out of cards, he pays for people\u2019s fuel in the store.<\/p>\n
One video showed an elderly Flaxmere woman who was filling up with $20.<\/p>\n
\u201cI put in $40 and told her to keep her money.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt wasn\u2019t so much about the gas, my mind just thought that maybe she needed that $20 elsewhere.\u201d<\/p>\n
Schuster said he been searching for ways to help others in need for the past six years.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast Christmas and the Christmas before, we went to The Warehouse, and bought a whole bunch of jandals, hats, like mini care packages.\u201d<\/p>\n
The recipients were homeless and those less fortunate than himself, Schuster said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I got it, I give it; if I don\u2019t, I won\u2019t.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know what it\u2019s like to be broke, so if you can relieve some stress, you relieve some stress.\u201d<\/p>\n
