The 32-year-old’s future with the club had subject to speculation since last year, with NZ Warriors coach Andrew Webster saying earlier this week he still hoped to retain Tuivasa-Sheck. <\/p>\n
“Whichever way it goes, whether he stays or wherever he ends up, if he plays union or plays league… if he leaves, he goes with our blessing,” Webster said. <\/p>\n
“If there’s an opportunity for him at the end of the season to stay, we’d celebrate that too.” <\/p>\n
Founded in 1873, West Yorkshire-based Wakefield Trinity is currently sixth on the English Super League ladder.<\/p>\n
Tuivasa-Sheck first rose to prominence in rugby league with the Sydney Roosters, winning the 2013 NRL Premiership, before becoming a star fullback for the New Zealand Warriors and awarded the Dally M Medal in 2018.<\/p>\n
He switched codes to rugby union, signing with the Blues and representing the All Blacks, before returning to the Warriors in 2024 under a three-year deal. <\/p>\n
