Employees at a business in Eyemouth, Scotland, were shocked and concerned when a baby seal showed up right outside their door. There was a storm going on, and the young pup clearly needed a place to wait it out.<\/p>\n

The business contacted British Divers Marine Life Rescue<\/a>, who came out to monitor the situation and make sure the seal was kept safe during his time on land. As they watched him to make sure he didn\u2019t wander into traffic, they also noticed a crowd of curious onlookers had gathered. Wanting to make sure the seal wasn\u2019t disturbed, the team made a judgment call.<\/p>\n

\u201cBarriers were put in place to prevent members of the public trying to access the seal and allow the seal to rest, also blocking it from going further up the pavement and getting on the road,\u201d Em Mayman with British Divers Marine Life Rescue told The Dodo. \u201cThe sign on the barrier advised the public the seal was resting.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sign on the barrier said, \u201cI\u2019m sleeping. I\u2019m fine, just tired. Please leave me alone.\u201d The seal now had a safe place to rest until the storm passed. The team was pleased \u2014 the seal, however, was not.<\/p>\n

A few hours after the barrier was put in place, the cheeky seal made a judgment call of his own. He decided he didn\u2019t need protection and moved himself outside the barrier.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen medics returned to check on him, he had relocated himself neatly to the other side \u2014 and gone straight back to sleep, as if nothing had happened,\u201d the rescue wrote on Facebook<\/a>. \u201cAt one point, with his head on the sandbag!\u201d<\/p>\n

The team couldn\u2019t help but laugh when they saw what the seal had done. He had made it very clear that he was in charge, not them.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause, as always \u2026 the seal makes the rules,\u201d the rescue wrote.<\/p>\n

After six hours, the seal finally decided he\u2019d had enough rest and found his way back to the beach. Everyone was glad to see he was OK and that they could help \u2014 even if, in his mind, he didn\u2019t really need it.<\/p>\n
