(Source: 1News)<\/p>\n<p>Auckland Airport encouraged passengers to check its website for the latest flight arrival and departure information.<\/p>\n<p>Live traffic cameras showed dense fog covering the city&#8217;s major motorways.<\/p>\n<p>Ferry services between downtown Auckland and Waiheke Island were also hit, with Fullers360 warning that six morning sailings \u2014 the 8am, 9am and 10am services in both directions \u2014 faced potential delays until the fog cleared.<\/p>\n<p>The fog prompted reactions from residents across the city, with some on social media reporting that the sound of foghorns could be heard as far away as West Harbour. <\/p>\n<p>One observer on social media described the fog as roughly 100m thick, rolling out over the ocean as temperatures continued to drop. <\/p>\n<p>The post went on to describe this morning&#8217;s coverage as &#8220;absolutely crazy&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/fog-auckland-MS2RENU7AZFIJL65E4HJWHTAZM.jpg\" alt=\"Fog seen across Auckland this morning.\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"ImageMetadata__MetadataParagraph-sc-hi5x8q-0 cWTYyG image-metadata\">Fog seen across Auckland this morning.
