We got lucky that we got Brie, who crushes it and loves Nintendo universe. And also Donald, who campaigned for the role.  He told his agent, \u2018Call [Illumination CEO] Chris Meledandri. Tell him I really want to be Yoshi, I\u2019d love to be in the new Super Mario Bros. Because he loves it, and he loves that universe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Glover got the role and admits that he \u201cstarted off a little timid\u201d in terms of trying to figure out the character and how to play him:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was like, \u2018OK, how am I gonna do this? These guys did such a great job on the first one. And that\u2019s a hard thing to do. It\u2019s a very iconic movie and character.
