It caused widespread degradation of high-frequency (HF) radio signals across the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/_SpaceWeather_\/status\/2038454185897730258?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/x.com\/_SpaceWeather_\/status\/2038454185897730258?s=20\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">sunlit side of Earth<\/a> at the time of the eruption, affecting southeast Asia and Australia.<\/p>\n<p>The eruption came from active region 4405, a magnetically complex sunspot group now rotating further into Earth&#8217;s view \u2014 meaning any continued activity could have more direct impacts on <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/54-earth-history-composition-and-atmosphere.html\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/54-earth-history-composition-and-atmosphere.html\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/54-earth-history-composition-and-atmosphere.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Earth<\/a> and <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/artemis-2-humans-moon-orbit\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/artemis-2-humans-moon-orbit\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/artemis-2-humans-moon-orbit\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Artemis 2<\/a> preparations in the coming days. Aurora chasers will also be getting excited about the prospect of a possible glancing blow from the speedy CME released during the eruption.
