New Zealand Winegrowers has appointed Anishka Jelicich chief executive officer.<\/p>\n
The organisation said Jelicich brings more than two decades of leadership experience across New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Europe, in a career in the global wine industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Jelicich will be exiting a role in Paris with Pernod Ricard, where she was global director responsible for marketing and sales, and will be returning home to New Zealand to be based at the NZW head office in Auckland.<\/p>\n
The sector is navigating a period of heightened global uncertainty, with a range of serious pressures currently facing growers and winemakers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Chair Fabian Yukich said the board had looked for a leader who understood the wine industry and could bring a global perspective, strong stakeholder capability, and strategic clarity to the role.<\/p>\n
Jelicich\u2019s international experience, deep understanding of policy and trade, and a proven ability to build alignment across diverse stakeholders were reasons the board chose her for the role, Yukich said.<\/p>\n
Jelicich follows in the footsteps of CEO Philip Gregan, who will retire at the end of June after 43 years of service to the organisation.<\/p>\n
Yukich said Gregan\u2019s leadership has been instrumental in shaping the modern New Zealand wine industry.<\/p>\n
