The Game of Thrones actor\u2019s injuries have been described as \u201cminor\u201d, and a spokesperson for Amazon MGM Studios said: “We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
It is currently unclear whether Turner suffered the injury while filming. <\/p>\n
Turner is playing archaeologist-adventurer Lara Croft<\/a> in Phoebe Waller-Bridge\u2019s forthcoming live-action series, but discovered a back problem<\/a> while training for the role last year.<\/p>\n In January, she opened up about the gruelling physical training she undertook for the entirety of 2025, stating: \u201cWe’ve been doing eight hours a day, five days a week since February of last year, of training.\u201d<\/p>\n Turner also told The Julia Cunningham Show that she had never worked out before, which made training particularly harder.<\/p>\n \u201cI also realised that it\u2019s much easier to build muscle if you\u2019ve worked out before in your life, which I never had. So it’s taken me months and months and months to get into good shape.\u201d<\/p>\n Turner\u2019s most popular role remains her portrayal of the eldest Stark daughter, Sansa, <\/a>in HBO\u2019s Game of Thrones, the television adaptation of George RR Martin\u2019s epic novels.<\/a><\/p>\n The actor expressed her delight over playing a character far removed from Sansa, stating: \u201cIt\u2019s quite nice to learn how to throw a punch and not just take it.\u201d<\/p>\n Based on the popular video game franchise, the new adaptation will also star Sigourney Weaver, Celia Imrie and Jason Isaacs.<\/p>\n Alien star Weaver will be taking on the role<\/a> of Evelyn Wallis, described as a \u201chigh-flying woman who is keen to exploit Lara\u2019s talents\u201d. Meanwhile, Imrie will portray Francine, head of advancement at the British Museum, and The White Lotus star Isaacs has been cast as Lara\u2019s uncle, Atlas DeMornay.<\/p>\n Series creator and showrunner Waller-Bridge said of the project: \u201cTomb Raider boasts a plethora of iconic characters. I am thrilled to have been able to bring some personal and fan favourites to the screen while also introducing a few new rascals of our own to the mix. This cast is beyond my wildest dreams!\u201d<\/p>\n Turner steps into a role previously embodied both by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander <\/a>in earlier adaptations. <\/p>\n In 2024, Vikander told The Independent<\/a> she was \u201csad\u201d she wouldn\u2019t be returning for a Tomb Raider<\/a> sequel.<\/p>\n Vikander played the video game character in the latest adaptation, which was released in 2018.
