Lizzo<\/a> must have been thinking \u201cit\u2019s about damn time.\u201d<\/p>\n The singer has confessed that she was in her 30s before she lost her virginity, honoring a pact she made two decades earlier.<\/p>\n \u201cI promised myself when I was younger that I wouldn’t have sex until I won a Grammy,\u201d she revealed on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, shocking hosts Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky, and Kristin Batalucco.<\/p>\n Lizzo, now 37, won her first Grammy in 2020. She took home three awards that night: Best Pop Solo Performance (\u201cTruth Hurts\u201d), Best Urban Contemporary Album (deluxe version of Cuz I Love You), and Best Traditional R&B Performance (\u201cJerome\u201d).<\/p>\n She didn\u2019t make good on her promise the night of the Grammys; however, it wasn\u2019t long after.<\/p>\n But before she marked the milestone rite of passage, \u201cI lied about it for a long time,\u201d admitted Lizzo. “I feel a weight off of my chest right now.\u201d<\/p>\n Recalling her college days at the University of Houston, the singer shared an embarrassing moment among her friend group.<\/p>\n \u201cWe were all girling one night, and it was like, \u2018Wait, Lizzo, are you a virgin?\u2019 And I remember being like, \u2018No!\u2019\u201d\u00a0she said. “I was remember it was so embarrassing. I said, ‘I love the D\u2019\u2026 And it held me over for a little while.\u201d<\/p>\n The self-admitted late bloomer also didn\u2019t share her first kiss until she was 21.<\/p>\n The delay was \u201creligious,\u201d Lizzo explained. \u201cLike, when we were teenagers at my church, we all made a pact that we wouldn’t do anything before marriage. And then, I was just so scared. Like, nobody wanted to kiss me.\u201d<\/p>\n When someone finally did, it was \u201cterrible,\u201d she complained.<\/p>\n Lizzo with her boyfriend Myke Wright in 2026 \u201cI was actually very upset about it,\u201d Lizzo told Blanco, \u201cbecause it was like a New Year\u2019s Eve thing, and he like forced it on me.
