{"id":358586,"date":"2026-04-01T12:57:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-01T12:57:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/358586\/"},"modified":"2026-04-01T12:57:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T12:57:10","slug":"bbc-radio-norfolk-off-air-after-the-forum-flood-in-norwich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/358586\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC Radio Norfolk off air after the Forum flood in Norwich"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Those tuning in to the show this morning were greeted by Wayne Bavin, of BBC Radio Suffolk.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Mr Bavin, who presents the Suffolk breakfast show, reported that BBC Radio Norfolk was off air due to a flood at the Forum in Norwich.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;There&#8217;s been a bit of argy-bargy, a bit of a to-do, at the building for BBC Norfolk,&#8221; he added.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;They&#8217;ve had a flood, it&#8217;s not an April Fool&#8217;s.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;You&#8217;ve got me if you&#8217;re listening to me for the next hour or so.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The Forum, based in the city centre, is the home of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edp24.co.uk\/topics\/emergency\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">BBC Look East and BBC Radio Norfolk.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Mr Bavin further added that the Norfolk team made its way down to the Suffolk studios, with Graham Barnard due to sit in for Chris Goreham today.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He further assured listeners that it wasn&#8217;t an April Fool&#8217;s joke and that he would be covering the show until the issue was resolved.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The BBC reported that the issue was caused by a leak from an air conditioning unit.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The Forum has now reopened and is fully operational.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Those tuning in to the show this morning were greeted by Wayne Bavin, of BBC Radio Suffolk.
