\t\t\t\t\t\"\"<\/a>When you remember that changing your last name doesn\u2019t change who you\u2019re related to\u2026<\/p>\n

On Tuesday\u2019s Season 8 premiere of Welcome to Plathville, Lydia Plath rounded up her (mostly) bad-mannered, fair-haired family members to admonish them for their mistreatment of her husband, Zac Wyse, as well as the abhorrent behavior they exhibited<\/a> before (during and after) the couple\u2019s wedding.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As fans of the TLC series likely remember, Lydia\u2019s mom, Kim, and brothers Micah and Ethan were less-than-supportive<\/a> (and at times, even cruel<\/a>) about Lydia\u2019s marriage to Zac last season. Despite Zac inviting the family to be present at his proposal to Lydia, Ethan, Micah and their significant others responded by giving Zac a hard time\u2013 from Ethan lighting a fire<\/a> in the location that Zac planned to pop the question, to Micah obnoxiously tossing a chair into the water and nearly knocking down Lydia\u2019s future husband by barrel-rolling down a hill<\/a> into him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Plaths gonna Plath\u2026<\/p>\n

The Plath shenanigans continued at Lydia and Zac\u2019s rehearsal dinner and the wedding itself, with Kim claiming that Zac was \u201ccontrolling\u201d and Ethan accusing Zac of being gay, citing Zac and Lydia\u2019s decision to save their first kiss for their wedding day.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Tuesday\u2019s episode, Lydia and Zac revealed they were planning to confront the problematic Plaths over their past behavior, with Lydia noting that the situation was still weighing heavily on her mind eight months after she and Zac tied the knot.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u201cThere isn\u2019t a prayer closet big enough to fix this one.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Lydia\u2019s siblings began arriving to the Plath farm in Georgia, they acknowledged why Lydia had called for a family meeting, with Kim predicting that Lydia and Zac were seeking an apology.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a little bit dreading it,\u201d Kim said. \u201cBecause I know that things were crazy at their wedding, and I feel like they\u2019re coming here wanting an apology.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u201c\u2026I am awful, and only out-awfuled by my two sons!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI have mixed feelings about that, because I am sorry that a lot of things happened the way they did,\u201d she continued. \u201cAt the same time, I\u2019m not sorry that we really cared.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite all of her family\u2019s \u201ccaring,\u201d Lydia told viewers that she\u2019d been so angry and upset over what they did that it often caused her to \u201cfall asleep crying,\u201d at which point Zac would have to comfort her. Still, she insisted that she was finally ready to have a conversation with her family and ready to move forward.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Upon Zac and Lydia\u2019s arrival to the farm, the couple sat outside with the rest of the Plaths and Lydia began by acknowledging how quickly she and Zac got married and apologizing to those who may have felt pressured to accept their union. However, Lydia also noted that while some chose to get to know Zac, others in the family \u201cjust made their judgments.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201c \u2026 I know you guys care,\u201d Lydia said. \u201cIt would be amazing if there was a way to show that care, especially to Zac.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u201cNothing quite says \u2018you\u2019re special to me\u2019 like your bro barrel-rolling into your groom, I guess\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Zac then spoke up to tell his in-laws that if they had any lingering concerns or questions for him, he was open to having a conversation\u2013 a comment that seemingly referred to the accusations Ethan and Kim previously made against him. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have a lot of pain from what they did to me, it\u2019s more that they would do it to me and that they\u2019re hurting [Lydia] in the process,\u201d Zac explained to viewers. \u201cThat hurt me more. I\u2019m trying to lift Lydia up, because I know what she\u2019s doing is right.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Back at the family meeting, an emotional Lydia began to unload her unfiltered feelings onto her family.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way we were treated the night before our wedding, it was supposed to be a joyful time celebrating the last night as a Plath,\u201d Lydia said. \u201cIt was actually the hardest night of my life.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u201cYou tried to light my future husband on fire, for goodness sake!\u201d<\/p>\n

Micah went on to break the tension by apologizing to Lydia for his behavior around the time of her wedding, telling his sister he \u201cfelt awful\u201d afterwards. Still, like Kim, Micah insisted that he was concerned for Lydia and \u201clooking out for [her] best interest.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

After expressing a modicum of regret, Micah told viewers he could see how the family\u2019s actions made things \u201cdifficult\u201d for Lydia and Zac\u2013 Zac in particular. He also told Lydia and Zac that he approved of their pairing and knows that Zac is a good guy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u201cTold ya so!\u201d<\/p>\n

Lydia\u2019s brother Isaac echoed similar sentiments as Micah, telling his sister and brother-in-law that while he was weary of their fast-paced relationship, he realizes he \u201cwent about it completely the wrong way.\u201d He also admitted to viewers that he had acted \u201clike an idiot.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"\u201cUm\u2026 there\u2019s no acting on this show, bro.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the fact that she was \u201cdreading\u201d the conversation with Lydia and Zac, Kim told the couple she was \u201c100 percent supportive\u201d of their relationship\u2013 a statement her ex-husband Barry seemed hesitant to believe\u2013 and even Ethan begrudgingly apologized to pair, before claiming that he, too, acted out of concern for Lydia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore their wedding, I was just saying what I saw and what I felt,\u201d Ethan told viewers. \u201cJust like Isaac and Micah, we were just encouraging Lydia to not rush into something, especially with not knowing really what their physical attraction is.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>All we \u201csee\u201d is a guy who\u2019s entirely too invested in what his sister does in the privacy of her own prayer closet bedroom\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cI think there\u2019s nothing wrong with checking yourself and being like, \u2018Do you see what I see, or am I just delusional?\u2019\u201d he continued. \u201cBut I certainly could have been nicer, you know? Gone about things maybe in a better way.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
