The CEO of Texas Health Resources will retire this year, the hospital system announced on Monday.<\/p>\n
Barclay Berdan has worked at Texas Health Resources for nearly four decades and has been CEO since 2014, according to the system’s announcement. He will retire in September.<\/p>\n
Winjie Miao, currently the system’s senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, will take over as CEO after Berdan’s September retirement.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, the announcement said,\u00a0Miao has been appointed president, a role she will assume in early April.<\/p>\n
As the senior leadership shifts, the system has also named Laura Irvine as its new senior executive vice president and chief operating and growth officer.<\/p>\n
The Texas Health Resources system operates nearly two dozen hospitals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to the system’s website, along with dozens more primary care offices, outpatient facilities and surgery centers.<\/p>\n
The system’s board of trustees chair, Hunter Hunt, said in the announcement that the transition is the result of “thoughtful planning.”<\/p>\n
