Leslie Jones<\/a> is making headlines after a standout moment during her recent appearance on Ziwe\u2019s interview series<\/a>. <\/p>\n

During the March 31 conversation, the comedian and former Saturday Night Live<\/a> star rejected the idea of becoming a \u201ctradwife\u201d and went even further, arguing that modern marriage itself is fundamentally stacked against women. <\/p>\n

When Ziwe asked whether she could ever embrace the increasingly popular traditional-wife lifestyle, Jones did not hesitate.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbsolutely not,\u201d Jones said. \u201cBecause that\u2019s not who the f*ck I am. And my daddy didn\u2019t raise me like that.\u201d She explained that her father never wanted her to define herself through a relationship, adding, \u201cMy dad used to literally say that to me. I didn\u2019t raise you to be somebody\u2019s wife.\u201d<\/p>\n

The exchange came as the \u201ctradwife\u201d trend continues to gain traction across TikTok and Instagram. The movement, which took off around 2020, centers on women embracing old-school domestic roles, often presenting themselves as homemakers who cook from scratch, homeschool their children, and submit to a husband who serves as the family\u2019s sole provider.<\/p>\n

Influencers like Nara Smith and Ballerina Farm have helped popularize the aesthetic, which often mixes soft-focus content with a broader rejection of modern feminism.<\/p>\n

Jones made it clear that she sees the trend very differently. When Ziwe asked whether she could ever fit into that role, Jones responded by linking it directly to her broader feelings about marriage. \u201cMost of the people that I know that\u2019s gotten married are divorced now,\u201d she said. \u201cI think marriage is legalized slavery.\u201d <\/p>\n

After Ziwe pressed her for an explanation, Jones linked marriage to women being expected to give up their independence. \u201cEspecially if he expecting you to be a trad wife, it\u2019s might as well pull out a whip and a chain,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Jones also said she does not believe marriage benefits women. \u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s beneficial for a woman at all,\u201d she said, later telling younger viewers simply, \u201cDon\u2019t get married.\u201d <\/p>\n
