A gay couple who star in a fashion-focused reality TV series have shared video of an unknown man attacking their car in an apparent fit of extreme road rage.<\/p>\n
Patrik Simpson and Pol\u2019 Atteu, who co-host the Amazon Prime series Gown and Out in Beverly Hills and the Undressed podcast, say they were driving on Sunday, March 29, between 9:20 and 9:30 a.m. when, while stopped at the intersection of Melrose Avenue and Vine Street in Hollywood, the driver of a gray Toyota 4Runner with a roof rack blocked their vehicle.<\/p>\n
\u201c[The driver] drove on the wrong side of the road, pulled in front of us diagonal, and trapped our car,\u201d Simpson, who recorded the interaction, told KABC<\/a>. \u201cWe couldn\u2019t turn left. We couldn\u2019t turn right. We couldn\u2019t go forward. We did not know what was going on.\u201d<\/p>\n Simpson and Atteu sat stunned as the man exited his vehicle, approached their car, and punched and kicked the driver\u2019s side window and door.<\/p>\n \u201cHe gave me this death glare, like, literally, I thought he was going to kill us,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n In the video, Simpson can be heard telling Atteu to lock the doors and call the police.<\/p>\n Atteu, who was driving, feared the man would harm them if he managed to break into the car.<\/p>\n \u201cI thought, \u2018If this man is going back to the car, he\u2019s going to get something\u2026 I\u2019m dead. I\u2019m literally\u2026 dead.\u2019 This is that moment where I\u2019m faced with that fear of, \u2018I\u2019m just going to die here. This is it,\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n After failing to smash through the window, the driver returned to his car and left the scene, leaving blood on the vehicle where his hand had struck it.<\/p>\n The couple followed the man\u2019s vehicle for several miles, despite a 911 dispatcher warning them not to. \u201cI wanted the license plate,\u201d Simpson said.<\/p>\n Atteu claims the man ran multiple red lights and stop signs as they followed him, even though there appeared to be children in the car. \u201cAs much as I could see, there was someone in the passenger seat holding a baby,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n It remains unclear what triggered the man\u2019s behavior.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s got to be mistaken identity, because I don\u2019t know who this person is. I don\u2019t know where this person came from,\u201d Atteu said.<\/p>\n Simpson told KTLA<\/a> he is not sure whether the man knew who they are, but questioned whether the incident was targeted.<\/p>\n Police have not yet identified the driver, despite Simpson and Atteu providing his license plate number when they filed the report.<\/p>\n Based on video shot by Simpson, the driver is described as a large, heavyset man with a dark beard and clear-framed glasses, wearing a black \u201cDon\u2019t Panic It\u2019s Organic\u201d graphic T-shirt and visible sleeve tattoos.
