\n\tTaemin<\/a> is making history a long way from home. SHINee member and K-pop star\u00a0appeared on\u00a0the Wednesday (April 1) episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, where he spoke about being part of this year\u2019s Coachella lineup.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou\u2019re making history as the first K-pop male solo artist to perform at Coachella,\u201d Hudson points out during their chat. \u201cHow does that feel?\u201d [Editor\u2019s note: Jackson Wang \u2014 who is Chinese \u2014 was the first male K-pop solo artist to perform at the annual festival in 2024, but Taemin is the first male Korean K-pop solo artist to perform at Coachella.]<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere is a saying in Korea, \u2018Big opportunities come three times in life,’\u201d Taemin responds after sharing that he was feeling \u201chonored and grateful\u201d to be performing at the festival. \u201cAnd this is one of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHudson continues the chat by asking the star if he will release more solo music.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOh, yes,\u201d Taemin replies. \u201cI am still evolving.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe star was also on the talk show to perform his new single, \u201cLong Way Home.\u201d The \u201cIdol\u2019s Idol\u201d sang alone on the stage, dancing effortlessly with his rhinestone microphone and mic stand for the adoring audience. <\/p>\n

\n\tPerforming at Coachella isn\u2019t the only history Taemin is making this year. Billboard<\/a> exclusively revealed in March that the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles will open a new exhibit dedicated to the K-pop star\u2019s nearly two-decade long career, making him the first K-pop soloist to receive such recognition from the museum. \u201cTAEMIN: Performer. Artist. Icon\u201d will opens April 1 and will give fans a peek behind the curtains of Taemin\u2019s career. Multiple performance looks \u2014 including one from his Ephemeral Gaze World Tour \u2014 will be on display as well as his official lightstick and a handwritten note addressed to his fans. The special exhibit will run through May 25.<\/p>\n
