\n\tThe highly anticipated second season of Beef<\/a>, Netflix\u2019s award-winning anthology from writer-director Lee Sung Jin<\/a>, is almost here. Gone are the parking lot feuds, traded for a country club background decorated by the star-studded main cast of Oscar Isaac<\/a>, Carey Mulligan<\/a>, Charles Melton<\/a> and Cailee Spaeny<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn the season\u2019s trailer, released by the streamer on Thursday (April 2), two couples become linked, whether they like it over not. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe almost-haunting minute-and-a-half trailer begs the question \u2014 is Mulligan\u2019s Lindsay happy with Isaac\u2019s Josh. \u201cI think deep down we always knew it was a temporary bandaid,\u201d Mulligan says. When asked what it was a Band-Aid for, she adds, \u201dFor the immense pain of knowing you picked the wrong person.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSeason two of Beef will follow an entirely new cast and unrelated storyline than the show\u2019s first season, which earned eight Emmy Awards, four Critics Choice Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, two Gotham Awards, two SAG Awards, along with several other guild honors. It\u2019s safe to say the series dominated the 2023 and 2024 award season. The first season starred Steven Yeun<\/a> and Ali Wong<\/a>, who both won Emmys for their performance. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe second season will follow \u201ca Gen Z couple [who] witnesses an alarming fight between their Millennial boss and his wife,\u201d according to the season\u2019s synopsis. \u201cNewly-engaged Ashley Miller (Spaeny) and Austin Davis (Melton), both lower-level staff at a country club, become entangled in the unraveling marriage of their general manager, Joshua Mart\u00edn (Isaac), and his wife, Lindsay Crane-Mart\u00edn (Carey Mulligan).\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tSeoyeon Jang rounds out the season\u2019s list of series regulars. Award-winning Korean actors Youn Yuh-jung and Song Kang-ho will also star alongside William Fichtner, Mikaela Hoover, Matthew Kim, known by his K-pop stage name, BM. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThrough favors and coercion, both couples vie for the approval of the elitist club\u2019s billionaire owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn), who struggles to manage her own scandal involving her second husband, Doctor Kim (Song),\u201d the synopsis finishes. <\/p>\n

\n\tBeef, hailing from A24, is created, showran and executive produced by Lee. Jake Schreier, Yeun, Wong, Mulligan, Isaac, Melton, Spaeny, Anna Moench, Kitao Sakurai and Ethan Kuperberg serve as executive producers for season two. The eight-episode season drops on Netflix on April 16. <\/p>\n
