However, things got dicey when co-host Michael Atkinson asked Taylor to give the crab a kiss.<\/p>\n
When she reached around and gave the animal a peck on the top of its head, the crab latched down on her finger.<\/p>\n
\u201cAh, it\u2019s got my finger!\u201d she cried as the crab continued its morning snack.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet me go!\u201d<\/p>\n
The seafood handler was quick to try and separate the two, while Taylor tried to keep cool and laugh through the pain.<\/p>\n
While trying to pry the crab\u2019s mouth open and release her digits, the co-hosts at the Today studio couldn\u2019t help but watch in shock.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh no,\u201d Michael said as Taylor continued the struggle, holding back simultaneous screams and laughter.<\/p>\n
Co-host Alison Piotrowski later said the weather presenter was okay. <\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s doing fine, thank goodness, and we will catch up with her later on in the program,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She made another appearance later in the morning with her hand plunged into a cup of cold water.<\/p>\n
Taylor then confirmed she would be making a trip to the hospital.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m still in shock,\u201d she said with her fingers sitting softly in the cup.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt did take a good while (to get unstuck from the crab),<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I will be going to hospital after this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mike said a metal rod was used to pry the claw open, and Haynes was so calm, he didn\u2019t realise how badly she\u2019d been grabbed.<\/p>\n
Despite the pain, she was in good spirits \u2013 and even suggested getting compensated for her injury.<\/p>\n
\u201cSurely I get a free crab out of this,\u201d she joked.<\/p>\n
