An Australian weather presenter was taken to hospital after a crab clamped onto her finger during a live fish market segment in Sydney on Friday.<\/p>\n
The Today Show’s Taylor Haynes had asked a seafood seller to show viewers his most expensive catch when she was handed the large crab.<\/p>\n
Holding it up to camera, she jokingly leaned in for a mock kiss \u2014 but the moment quickly turned painful when the crustacean suddenly latched onto her finger.<\/p>\n
At first laughing, Haynes\u2019 tone quickly shifted as she realised the crab wouldn\u2019t release its grip.<\/p>\n
“Ah, it\u2019s got my finger!” she cried, as cameras zoomed in on the claw tightly enclosing her hand before she urgently signalled for the shot to cut back to the studio.<\/p>\n
She later returned on air with an update \u2014 minus the crab, but visibly shaken and unable to move her fingers. Haynes said the stallholder had eventually been forced to pry the crab\u2019s claw open using a metal bar.<\/p>\n
“The pain is real. I\u2019ve got no movement. It\u2019s awful,” she said, holding her hand in a cup of cold water. <\/p>\n
“It was holding on for dear life. I\u2019m still in shock.”<\/p>\n
