Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Lord Ram in Ramayana.<\/p>\n

Ranbir Kapoor has revealed the screentime of the Ramayana films. The actor said that they have nearly 6 hours of footage. With some shoot for Part 2 still left, the runtimes of both films will likely cross the 3-hour mark. Ranbir made this revelation at the recent teaser launch of his look as Rama, which was held in LA.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the spectacle of the film, Ranbir Kapoor told Collider, \u201cIt\u2019s nothing less than The Lord of the Rings. It\u2019s our greatest epic spectacle, coming from our country. This was just the teaser. We have 6 hours of epic visuals, epic action sequences and emotions.”<\/p>\n

In the same chat, Ranbir Kapoor<\/a> also confirmed his double role in Nitesh Tiwari\u2019s Ramayana. While he is headlining the film as Rama, he will also briefly be seen as Parshurama, who was Vishnu\u2019s avatar before Rama. While this double role was teased in the latest Rama teaser, there had been no confirmation until now.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cLord Vishnu had different avatars. Lord Rama was an avatar, and Lord Parshurama was an avatar before Lord Rama. Just to get the opportunity, you know, how I got to play Lord Rama, to also play Lord Parshurama was fantastic.”<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI think as an actor, apart from body language, I think if you deeply understand the spirituality and the emotionality of the characters, I think everything starts from there. I think that\u2019s what I did the year leading up to the shoot of Ramayana, to understand who these people and characters are, what they stand for and what their motives are.”<\/p>\n

While Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi will be seen as Goddess Sita. KGF star Yash will be seen as Ravana in this movie. Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey will play the roles of Hanuman and Lakshman, respectively. On the other hand, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh will be seen as Mandodri and Surpanakha. Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha and Indira Krishnan are also part of this project.<\/p>\n

Ramayana Part I is slated for a theatrical release this Diwali, while the second chapter will release on Diwali 2027.<\/p>\n
