Lauren Conrad<\/a> and Kristin Cavallari<\/a> know all too well that what happens in Laguna Beach<\/a> doesn\u2019t stay there \u2014 but would they change anything about their time on the MTV reality show?<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t necessarily have regrets,\u201d Conrad, 40, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting The Reunion: Laguna Beach<\/a>, which premieres on Roku Friday, April 10. \u201cI think I was 18 years old on camera, so I\u2019m definitely a little unsure of myself when I\u2019m filming.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conrad pointed out that there\u2019s \u201cactually not a lot of me talking\u201d on the reality show, even though she was the narrator<\/a> on season 1.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn scenes I don\u2019t say a lot, you can tell I\u2019m pretty self-conscious. So no regrets. I think I was just so young,\u201d she told Us about filming the show while she was in high school.<\/p>\n

While Conrad \u2014 who was known to fans and her costars as \u201cLC\u201d during her teenage years \u2014 doesn\u2019t regret any scenes from seasons 1 or 2 of Laguna Beach, she does wish she\u2019d treated costar Cavallari<\/a>, 39, better.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we both said it [at the reunion our regret] was the way we spoke about each other,\u201d Conrad explained. \u201cWe\u2019ve obviously grown a lot since then, but we were pretty unkind about one another, and it isn\u2019t how we treat each other now, or how we would treat other women now.\u201d<\/p>\n

During season 1 of Laguna Beach, which aired in 2004, fans watched as Conrad navigated her last year at Laguna Beach High School with her friends. One of her closest pals was Stephen Colletti<\/a>, who she was also crushing on<\/a>. Colletti, now 40, was a senior as well, dating junior classmate Cavallari \u2014 creating one of the most memorable love triangles on reality TV.<\/p>\n

Throughout the show, Conrad and Cavallari were pitted against each other and often bad-mouthed one another on camera. Looking back now, neither of them are proud of how they handled that situation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just found myself to be pretty \u2014 not to take a word out of my kids playbook \u2014 but cringey. I found myself to be kind of cringey at times,\u201d Cavallari exclusively told Us at the press junket for The Reunion: Laguna Beach<\/a>. \u201cI really did not like the way that I spoke about Lauren in particular. I think if I could change one thing, it would just be how I spoke about her and I would enunciate a little bit more.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Uncommon James founder<\/a> noted that she thinks \u201cwe all need to give ourselves some grace\u201d because they were just kids at the time.<\/p>\n

When it comes to her biggest \u201cregret\u201d from filming Laguna Beach<\/a>, Cavallari said her perception has changed as she\u2019s grown up.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you had asked me this question, I don\u2019t know, four years ago, I probably would have said Cabo as an example<\/a>,\u201d Cavallari told Us, referring to the season 1 episode where the group went to Mexico for spring break and Colletti called Cavallari a \u201cslut\u201d for dancing on the bar and making out with someone else.<\/p>\n

Cavallari explained that she looked at that episode in a different light after teaming up with Colletti for their \u201cBack to the Beach\u201d podcast<\/a> in 2022 and rewatching the series.<\/p>\n

\u201cI watched Cabo and I actually walked away being proud of myself for how I reacted. I was 17, clearly intoxicated, and my ex-boyfriend was yelling profanities in my face, and all I tried to do was remove myself from the situation, and I very easily could have escalated that, and I didn\u2019t,\u201d she recalled. \u201cAnd so that was one of those moments that I was really happy I got to experience it again, to kind of put that to bed with myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cavallari revealed that she doesn\u2019t \u201cregret anything\u201d after watching the show as an adult, noting, \u201cOf course, there\u2019s moments I\u2019m not super proud of, but they\u2019ve led me where I am today.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cUltimately, the show made me take a hard look in the mirror and grow up. And so I\u2019m actually really thankful for all of it,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n
