{"id":366923,"date":"2026-04-06T22:52:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T22:52:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/366923\/"},"modified":"2026-04-06T22:52:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T22:52:07","slug":"new-zealands-living-wage-rate-climbs-to-29-90","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/366923\/","title":{"rendered":"New Zealand&#8217;s Living Wage rate climbs to $29.90"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The $29.90 rate is set independently by the Family Centre Social Policy Unit and is adopted by employers that choose to become accredited through the Living Wage Movement Aotearoa New Zealand (LWMANZ).<\/p>\n<p>LWMANZ chairperson Muriel Tunoho said employees will be celebrating the new Living Wage rate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Right now, in a cost of living crisis that seems to be getting worse every day, the Living Wage is needed more than ever,&#8221; Tunoho said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scoop.co.nz\/stories\/BU2604\/S00006\/the-living-wage-will-increase-on-1st-april-to-2990.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">in a statement<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With these new fuel spikes low-paid workers are struggling to keep their heads above water and to cover the absolute basics like rent, power, and kai.
