Police investigating two aggravated robberies which occurred within 10 minutes of one another in Christchurch last night are working to determine if the incidents are linked. <\/p>\n
Acting Senior Sergeant Seb Kohnke said officers were called to a commercial premises on Briggs Rd, Shirley, after a report of two people entering the premises with a weapon at 8.10pm. <\/p>\n
An employee was assaulted during the incident and was taken to hospital.<\/p>\n
The offenders have then fled the area in a stolen vehicle.<\/p>\n
It is unknown what was taken at this stage.<\/p>\n
Just 10 minutes later at 8.20pm, police received a report of two people entering a commercial premises with a weapon on McBratneys Rd. <\/p>\n
During the incident, an employee was assaulted and received moderate injuries.<\/p>\n
“They have been transported to hospital,” Kohnke said. <\/p>\n
The two offenders targeted cash before leaving the area in a vehicle.<\/p>\n
Kohnke said police were making inquiries to identify and locate the offenders, and were working to determine if the incidents are linked.<\/p>\n
Anyone with information in relation to either incident was urged to contact police on 105, online, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.<\/p>\n
