Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian are speaking out about their volatile past relationship, his infidelity and drug use, and how she \u201cenabled\u201d him.<\/p>\n
The former couple, who were married from 2009 to 2016, both appear in the new Netflix documentary, \u201cUntold: The Death and Life of Lamar Odom,\u201d to share their memories of their marriage and his near-fatal 2015 drug overdose in a Nevada brothel. <\/p>\n
Odom, 46, exclusively tells Page Six that he is \u201cgrateful\u201d for his time married to Khloe, 41, \u201cbut people and places in your life change.\u201d These days, he says, \u201cI\u2019m just working on being my best self, and being present every day.\u201d<\/p>\n
On-screen in the doc, the former NBA player, says, \u201cI had 12 strokes and six heart attacks,\u201d recalling his 2015 ordeal following his overdose. \u201cThat\u2019s not average s \u2013 t. I was dead for three days. I made it, though.\u201d <\/p>\n
Here are the biggest bombshells from the doc (now streaming).<\/p>\n
Odom wanted to \u201cbetter his future\u201d though the marriage <\/p>\n
Onscreen, Odom\u2019s childhood friend Anthony \u201cPumpkin\u201d Booker recalls attending Odom and Kardashian\u2019s televised wedding in 2009. <\/p>\n
At the time, Booker, claimed, Odom told him that, \u201cThe moves that he\u2019s doing, he was doing it to try to better his future\u201d because, the Kardashians \u201cknow people\u201d and \u201chave mad connections.\u201d <\/p>\n
In the doc, Odom recalls what he saw in Khloe: \u201cI\u2019m watching how she lives and their lifestyle. I\u2019m like, \u2018This is how I want to live.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n
Destiny, 28, Odom\u2019s daughter with his childhood sweetheart Liza Morales, appears on-screen to say, \u201cHe did love Khloe \u2026 but, he had wanted to be on reality TV for a long time.\u201d <\/p>\n
His infidelity <\/p>\n
Both Odom and Kardashian address how he cheated on her during their marriage. They\u2019ve spoken about it before.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat the f \u2013 k would make you think you marry this woman on TV and then go have affairs?\u201d Odom says on-screen, seemingly scolding his past actions.<\/p>\n
He recalls in the doc that one night when he was \u201chigh out of my f \u2013 king mind,\u201d the unnamed woman he was cheating on Khloe with at the time got nervous, took his phone, and called Khloe. <\/p>\n
Khloe recalls onscreen that she got a phone call from a woman who told her, \u201cI\u2019ve been f \u2013 ing your husband.\u201d His mistress was freaked out by how \u201cf \u2013 ked up\u201d he was on drugs, Khloe says, and told her, \u201c\u2018I\u2019ve got to get off this ride, can you pick him up?\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n

Khloe says she was an \u201cenabler\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cI was looking for him in alleys, looking for him in motels,\u201d Khloe says on-screen, adding that he would leave drug paraphernalia such as spoons and tinfoil around hotel rooms. <\/p>\n
She says that she used to \u201cgo to hotel rooms to clean up after him\u201d so that the housekeeping employees didn\u2019t \u201csell a story\u201d about his drug use.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was such an enabler without knowing I was an enabler,\u201d she says in the doc, adding that she felt a \u201cresponsibility\u201d to cover up her then-husband\u2019s drug addiction to \u201cprotect him.\u201d <\/p>\n
Khloe \u201cdidn\u2019t sleep for years\u201d and \u201cfelt horrible about myself\u201d <\/p>\n
When she discovered the extent of his drug use, Khloe recalled that she was 24 at the time and \u201cstill trying to figure out my life.\u201d She attributed her behaviour at the time to \u201cyouth.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI remember just keeping all these secrets, and feeling horrible about myself,\u201d she says on-screen.<\/p>\n
Musing over why she \u201cenabled\u201d him, Khloe says in the doc that he was her first love. She also knew that Odom had suffered trauma in his life \u2014 his dad was also a drug addict and left his family, Odom had also lost a baby son to SIDS \u2014 she said that his pasts experiences made her \u201crationalise\u201d his behaviour. It made her want to \u201cfix\u201d him and \u201clove him enough\u201d to make him better.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was fighting every single day either to protect him, to not let him get caught, which sounds insane \u2026. I didn\u2019t sleep for years,\u201d she says on-screen.<\/p>\n
Khloe didn\u2019t originally want to divorce him <\/p>\n
The former couple originally signed divorce papers in July 2015. <\/p>\n
At the time, it was part of an \u201cintervention\u201d that Khloe said she had been \u201cadvised\u201d to do. She gave him the ultimatum that he needed to go to rehab, or they would get divorced. According to Khloe, Odom replied, \u201call I want is my passport and yeah, let\u2019s get the f \u2013 ing divorce.\u201d <\/p>\n
After he said that, Khloe says, \u201cI was looking around like, \u2018I don\u2019t want the divorce. You guys told me I had to say this!\u2019\u201d She didn\u2019t specify if \u2018you guys\u2019 was the Kardashian family. <\/p>\n
