N.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on March 30 at the south Keizer location of Pho Keizer restaurant at 3400 River Rd. N.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople who were at these\u00a0locations\u00a0during these dates and time periods\u00a0should\u00a0immediately\u00a0contact their health care provider and let them know they may have been exposed to someone who has measles,\u201d according to an email from Jonathan Modie, strategic communications manager for the Oregon Health Authority.\u00a0\u201cThe health care provider can\u00a0determine\u00a0whether you are immune to measles based on your vaccination record, age, or laboratory evidence of prior infection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Modie said the agency couldn\u2019t disclose whether the infected person was a customer or employee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this time, there is no ongoing risk associated with visiting those locations outside of the identified exposure windows,\u201d according to Melissa Gable, communications coordinator for Marion County Health &amp; Human Services<\/p>\n<p>Neither the state nor Marion County health officials have been disclosing the number of measle cases in the county.<\/p>\n<p>The Oregon Health Authority said in announcing the exposure that \u201cmeasles spreads through the air after a person with measles coughs or sneezes.\u201d Such virus particles can remain in the air for up to two hours.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeasles can be dangerous, especially among children younger than 5, adults older than 20, pregnant people, and people with weakened immune systems,\u201d the agency said.<\/p>\n<p>SYMPTOMS:<\/p>\n<p>According to the agency, \u201cMeasles typically starts with a fever, cough, runny nose and red eyes. A rash usually follows, beginning on the face and spreading to the rest of the body. Symptoms begin seven to 21 days after exposure to a person with measles.<\/p>\n<p>MEDICAL CARE:<\/p>\n<p>State officials say anyone who suspects a measles exposure should first call their medical provider and not go into a care center.<\/p>\n<p>People are asked to call ahead if they have a measles-like rash or \u201chave been exposed to measles within the previous 21 days, AND have any other symptom of measles (such as fever, cough or red eyes),\u201d according to the Oregon Health Authority.<\/p>\n<p>This article was originally published in the Keizertimes, which shares ownership with Salem Reporter.
