Air New Zealand has confirmed schedule changes, affecting about 4 percent of flights as jet fuel prices continue to rise.<\/p>\n
An Air New Zealand spokesperson said, \u201cDue to the ongoing impact of high jet fuel costs, Air New Zealand has made a small number of schedule changes for travel across May and June.\u201d<\/p>\n
The spokesperson told chrislynchmedia.com \u201cmost of our domestic network has seen only minor adjustments, with a small number of ports such as Hokitika, Timaru, Taup\u014d and Rotorua remaining unchanged to maintain connectivity.\u201d<\/p>\n
The airline said only around 1 percent of passengers would be affected, with most still travelling on the same day.<\/p>\n
\u201cCustomers will be notified from 9am Tuesday, with all notifications completed by the end of the week.\u201d<\/p>\n
The spokesperson said the changes were smaller than reductions seen elsewhere in the New Zealand market.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome airlines are reducing capacity by more than 10%.\u201d<\/p>\n
Air New Zealand said fuel costs had more than doubled, increasing pressure across the industry.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve made further increases to some airfares to help manage this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Customers whose new flight times do not suit can request a refund or credit.<\/p>\n
