While some relationships crumbled under pressure, others flourished — with one couple even opting to head down the aisle for real.

Here’s your MAFS 2026 Final Vows recap.

MAFS 2026 Final Vows

David & Alissa Final Vows

As David and Alissa’s vows commenced, we were optimistic the pair could overcome their recent hiccups. How wrong we were.

David began by reflecting on their early connection, saying: “The chemistry was instant…it all felt effortless” and “Week by week it just felt like we were getting stronger.”

But when it came time for his final words, the tone shifted dramatically.

“It was the final commitment ceremony when everything changed. I finally spoke up…I was scared being honest would push you away…I realised I wasn’t being heard. It wasn’t about proving a point, it was about finding my voice.”

Despite the cracks, David admitted he held onto hope.

“I told you I loved you. Although you couldn’t say it back I left feeling confident there was still hope for us.”

He then reflected on what he saw as a turning point in their relationship, adding: “What I’ve come to understand is that with you there was no version of me that could win”

In a powerful closing statement, he said: “I’m not walking away because I don’t love you, I’m walking away because loving you shouldn’t mean losing myself.”

With that, David turned on his heels and walked away — leaving Alissa stunned. Ironically, after everything he had said about wanting to be heard, Alissa didn’t get the chance to have her own vows heard. That didn’t stop her however, as she began reading them aloud to an empty room.

Rachel & Steven’s Final Vows

If there were any doubts about Rachel’s feelings, her vows quickly put them to rest.

“You’ve let me be me, completely. And, that’s all I’ve ever wanted,” she said.

She ended with a clear and emotional declaration: “I choose you. I want this. I want you.”

Steven matched her energy, reflecting on their journey together.

“It was the way you looked at me when I finally let my guard drop. The way you stood by me when I thought I didn’t deserve it.”

And in a moment that had everyone melting, he echoed her commitment: “I choose you. I choose your smile, your laugh, your fire.”

Bec & Danny’s Final Vows

Bec began her vows by highlighting Danny’s best qualities, sharing just how much he had come to mean to her. Promising? We thought so.

“Seeing how naturally you fit in my world has made me realise how much I want you to stay in it,” she declared.

But as Danny began speaking, it was clear the tone would be very different.

He walked through their relationship step by step — from early challenges to key emotional moments.

“I could see us living in Adelaide together as a couple, it felt like everything was falling into place. Then, on the final night I cracked a joke that landed wrong,” he said, apologising again and admitting it planted doubt in his mind.

He went on to reflect on the Alternate Matches challenge and how it impacted him, before revealing how their time apart had shifted his perspective.

“I know this might be hard to hear, but I think we both deserve a happy relationship, I’m so sorry but I can’t be your husband anymore,” he said.

As the reality of his decision set in, Bec picked up the hem of her dress, shook her head, quietly said “okay,” and walked away in tears.

Stella & Filip’s Final Vows

Emotions were running high during Stella and Filip’s Final Vows — and not just for them.

“I can say with utmost certainty that we are soulmates,” Stella said.

Filip reflected on his emotional journey, admitting: “I never expected to fall in love,” before adding, “when you said you love me too, I realised I was worthy of someone’s love.”

He continued: “You made me believe in love again… with you I feel seen, accepted and inspired to be better every day.”

Then came the moment no one could ignore.

In a surprise twist, Filip got down on one knee. As Stella’s jaw dropped, she exclaimed, “are you?!”

Yes — he was proposing.

Through tears and shock, Filip had to double-check her answer.

Spoiler: she said yes.

       Digital Editor

Maddison Hockey

      Digital Editor

After studying a Bachelor of Journalism at The University of Wollongong and Fashion Business at FBI Fashion College, Maddison began her now decade-long career in the media industry.
